New Moon, Jusco Tebrau, Holiday!

Woke up at 8.30am this morning & prepared myself to go back to Malacca

The time i awoke from my dream & pulled myself out of my bed,
how i wish that my holiday wasn't over yet =(

Dad fetched me to Larkin as my bro had to visit the traditional chinese medicine doctor at Tampoi to change his bandage on his fractured fingers. My bro was in an accident last month when he cycled to the town for work. Luckily only his fingers were wounded... A blessing in misfortune!

last saturday went to watch New Moon with ahToi YJ & MingHui, and of course his little sweetie QiWen.

hmmmm i am neither a typical twilight novel series lover nor Edward Cullen's super fans...I also don't think that Edward is so extraordinary hot =X so i have no much review to this movie. One thing i have to say is Jacob showed a hundred and eighty degree changes after his hair is cut & his clothes is stripped in New Moon!!! LOL

I exclaimed :"OMG she is touching his abdominal muscles!" in the scene after Jacob sneaked into Bella's room & before he hugged her tightly in his well-developed heavy arms!!! *drool* haha XD

Bella talking to Edward:
It's my birthday. May I ask you something?... Kiss me!

*I felt myself so blushed if I stared at him over 2 seconds*

Next time treat you back la, i know i will see you soon Miss Florence ♥

One dream came true.

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I got one eye shadow yesterday from a brand that I didn't own before. I was soo excited cause my friend texted me on Friday and asked me if I wanted her to bring me something from the store she was in (she was abroad). Of course I said yes, because I cannot get this brand from my home town and I hardly ever go to the cities where they sell this brand. This brand is MAC, Makeup Art Cosmetics.

I know I usually don't name the products I use so that you can come up with your own look with what you have. This time I will tell you, well only one eye shadow I will name, that being the MAC Cranberry I just got yesterday from my friend. :D

I used this color on the whole lid after using some eye shadow primer:

Outer half got some of this eye shadow:

Then to the middle half I put a little of this eye shadow to blend the line of the two eye shadows mentioned above:

And MAC Cranberry to the outer corner, little on the outer part of the lid, and to the crease:

As a highlight and blending the crease to the highlight I used this. It actually should look a little more yellow...

And the final look. Hope you like it!

As you probably can see, I used the very first lid color on the inner third on the lower lid and the Cranberry on the outer 2/3 of the lower lid.

What do you think? Any brands that you are dying to get to use?

Modified Tricolore

I just started playing with my eye shadows today and this is what I came up with. It is a really simple look, nothing too difficult.

I used a lemony yellow in the inner corner and as my highlight. Some hot pink in the middle third of my eye lid and some moss green in the outer corner. I used the same colors (in the same order of course) on my lower lash line.

Black cake eye liner and black mascara.

I have to admit I am quite proud of this look, because eventhough I am using colors that some people consider crazy, as in hot pink, I feel like this is actually a decent, everyday look. I would say that this is for those who are just starting to get used to using brighter colors.

What do you think?

Minty black

I looked like this a couple days ago.

I used a very black base on the lid only. I added some shimmery minty green/greenish turqoise on the whole lid.

Added some black eye shadow and created a strong v-shape to the outer corner connecting it to the crease. I used a mixture of a shimmery white and a shimmery beige eye shadow as the highlight and also used it to blend in the black in the crease.

To the inside of the v-shape I put some light brown primarily to blend in the black a little and so that the color difference between the minty green and black wouldn't be that big.

I used a soft eye liner pencil to line the top lash line and both waterlines. I used the black eye shadow to line the outer half of the lower lid and the minty green/greenish turqoise in the inner half. Added some black mascara to finalize the look.

I cleaned the small mess in the outer corner with some makeup remover. I wanted the wing to look a little sharper. You can use the tape technique to get a really sharp line going from your outer corner to your eye brow, but I feel like I get a more "natural" finish on the line so I didn't use tape. With the tape you need to blend a little anyway, unless you really go for the dramatic look.

Line your eyes!

These ways are the most common ways that I use to line my eyes.

This one below is the 'basic' way that I use most often when I use a pencil eye liner. The picture below this one is the same eye liner but with an open eye. Usually when I do this kind of eye liner I only line the lower lash line with eye shadow. If the eye liner is a little more winged then I tend to line the lower lash line with a pencil instead of an eye shadow.

Excuse the blurryness and the ridiculous brightness.. You get the idea. I didn't bother photoshopping these because I saved that energy for another group of picture which I will post later today or tomorrow.

This look below is the second most common way for me to line my eyes. If I use a liquid liner I usually make it look like this, I wont even bother leaving it like the earlier, basic look. This liner is by GOSH. It's the Eye liner pen Black Star.

As you can see it is a bit thicker altogether, but it starts to thicken about where my iris begins. For this picture below I used an eye liner pencil, but the shape is exactly the same as in the picture above.

I lined the lower lash line and the water lines as well.

Obviously no liquid liner in the water line, and the lower lash line might be a little difficult to do with a liquid liner, it easily looks a little funky.

Blush haul

I bought another blush today. Because I bought a Maybelline Minerals Liquid Foundation, 008 Porcelain and it was "Buy 2 Maybelline Minerals products for 15€". So I got a blush cause I didn't feel like getting a powder... It was a great deal cause the Foundation itself would've been like 12€ or something and the blush like 8-10€ or so. I don't know, cause I have only bought these when there's been a sale like today was.

In addition to the numbers 10 Topaz Rose and 20 Moonlight Mauve I now have 50 Opal Rose.

And here are the swatches of all three.

So far my favorite is number 20. It is soooo nice on my cheeks. 50 I of course haven't tried on my cheeks yet, but 10 is a very blush blush.

Moonlight Mauve is quite shimmery actually whereas Opal Rose is pretty much matte. But it's a great color nevertheless.

I also bought a black lip gloss! And a glittery black liquid eye liner. More about those later...

What is your favorite blush?

It Makes Me Miss You Crazily when It is Rainy Day

Thank you and u know I YOU so much so much, darling.

Unlikely match, maybe?

I do not really know what inspired this look. I was watching a youtube-video by MakeUp By Risa, and I did my makeup at the same time. But now I will have to wash this right off, cause I'm going to bed soon. I got the swine flu -vaccine this morning, hence no makeup cause that's the only place I went to today. As expected, I got a little feverish and a headache. But before I go to sleep, I'll wash my brushes and post this post.

I put a black base on the lid only. I covered the black with the green. I added some navy blue to the outer corner and outmost crease. I put some light yellow/gold to the inner corner of my eye to brighten up the look a little.

I put some hot pink under my lower lashes and took the pink up towards my eye brows a little, connecting it with the navy blue corner. I know, it looks more purplish than pink, but it really is hot pink. Okay, so I used two hot pinks, one is pink pink and the other is pink with a tiny, tiny , tiny amount of blue in it.

I used a black eye liner pencil on the upper and lower waterlines, or is lining the top waterline called tightlining...? Something that at least sounds like 'tightlining'. 'typelining'. I have no idea. Tell me if you know, please? :)

To blend the navy blue in the crease I used a white shimmer eye shadow as a highlight. Once again. I need a new highlight color. Any suggestions? I feel like I'm always using the same one. Which I am. I have a matte highlight color, but it doesn't seem to do the trick as well as this shimmer white one.

I finished the look with a gray liquid liner and black mascara. I didn't want the gray liquid liner to be that visible, so it's a very subtle line. Well, as subtle as you can do with a liquid liner.

edit. Actually, this blog has it's advantages. I now know, that I need to pay more attention to the crease. It's too low at some points.. You can see it from the second picture. If I put the crease color a little higher it would look better. Now a part of the color is missing, in the crease. It could come a bit higher.

So what do you think? Is it an unlikely match, or not?

Haul, more blue and a little tip

Hey everyone! I don't know what has gotten into me, but I have really been liking blue eye shadows lately! I use them almost everyday.

I have a pinkish duocrome eye shadow on my lid. I have electric blue duocrome on the crease and above it. I have a dark midnight blue with golden glitter right in the crease in intensify the blue. Yellowish gold as a highlight.
I did a little shopping the other day and I got a new eye liner pencil. I'm in love! It's Lumene Natural Code Eye Dramatizer. So good on the waterline, it does not move.

Also I got two mineral powder blushes by Maybelline cause it was buy 2 Maybelline products for 15€.

I got 10 Topaz Rose (left) and 20 Moonlight Mauve (right). Topaz Rose is really pink. Really pink, perhaps like coral/orange pink. The Midnight Mauve looks a little brownish, at least the lid looks more brownish when it's right next to the Topaz Rose. Midnight Mauve is not really brown, I don't think. It seems a little more bluish pink. I see the colors that way, I don't know if you do.

Have you tried these blushes?

------------

Quick tip! A good way of finding out whether you blend the eye shadows well is to take a picture, preferably with the cuisine-program in your camera. It works the best I think and it really shows if you don't blend well enough.

Blues continue

Recently I read that blue is this fall's color to reach for. Which I like quite a lot because I did not have many blue eye shadows before this summer.

I would say that blue can be a difficult color. It does not suit everyone and I would want to avoid the 70's or 80's looks with blue eye shadow. I don't really want the blue to reach my brows...

This is what I came up with. It only has two colors plus a highlight that I seem to reach for often!

I thought I was done at this point. Then I took the picture and noticed that the blue I was using really is not a good blue. No matter what eye shadow base I use this blue just does not turn out the way it should. The tester in the store was so good but the one I bought is just crap. Do I not put it right on my lid? I have tested 4 different bases, tested it without a base, tried using several brushes, some with natural bristles and the others with synthetic bristles. I've tried using an applicator, but nothing. It's crap. And this makeup brand is supposed to be good and all the eye shadows are supposed to be very pigmented. The only way I have managed to get this eye shadow to work even a little is by applying it with my finger. And doing that over and over again.

I cannot use a blending brush at all or it removes all the color. The picture below is taken with different lighting and camera setting and I applied the blue with my finger. It is better, but not great. I'm going back to the store sometime next week and ask how exactly I'm supposed to get the eye shadow work.

I put some medium brown to the crease and outer corner. I blended the upper part of the brown with the high light color which was a shimmery white (as always lately) and then I just had to try to blend the brown into the blue carefully.

I used a brown pencil eye liner for once. I seem to always choose the black liner. I didn't stray from the black mascara though.

Something blue... and a little smoky

I have a limited makeup collection here with me which is why I haven't done the Thousand Lakes-tutorial. I could do the neutral looks I posted earlier, but I have done a few neutrals lately so I'll just wait with that one.

After I went shopping today I took my makeup off and decided to play a little.

I used a very dark brown eye shadow as the lid color on top of the eye shadow base, but underneath all the blue. I don't have a blue (well, the point is that it's a dark) eye shadow base, so I had to make up one.

I put black eye liner pencil to line my top lid. Only on the lashline, no wings or anything.

Then I took a dark blue with shimmer, maybe a little grayish blue, eye shadow and put that on the lower part of my eye lid. I blended it a little upwards. The black eye liner is covered also with this dark blue eye shadow. Try not to blend all of the blue, only the sharp edge that the blue created. So that the eye shadow is the strongest closest to the lashes.

To blend the dark blue even more I used a matte blue, a lighter shade on the top part of the lid and the crease.

I added a tiny amount of matte black to the outmost corner of my eye lid and even smaller amount to rise up to the crease. So that it looks somewhat like a sharp C.

I didn't want my eyes to look like they would be closer together than they are, so I put some off-white shimmer eye shadow to the inner corner and put some of that to the lower lash line as well. I used the darkest blue as a liner by my lower lashes. I used the same off-white shimmer as a highlight.

Now I put some of that black eye liner pencil to my upper and lower waterlines. Finishing the look with some black mascara after curling the eye lashes.

This is basically the same picture as the first one, just a little different set up with the camera..

If you want a cleaner look you can always add a little tape to go from the corner of your eye to your brows and then just add eye shadows. This way you get a clear line which you can blend out later. I didn't use the tape technique this time, but sometimes it's handy.

Whatever look you are doing it is always good to remember your eye brows! Especially if you wear glasses. People often think that if you wear glasses your eye brows are blocked by your glasses, but this is not true! If you have chosen glasses right, that they suit you and the shape of your face, your eye brows most likely will show. They will show. Period. So do not forget to fill in/clean/reshape your brows.. They frame your face and are very important. Remember that they look the most normal if they're close to the shade of your hair color.

Pictures from the last two days

I had not been able to use my own computer until today and the computer I used for the last few days refused to work together with my camera. Therefore, uploading has been impossible. It sort of still is, since I can't access the internet with my computer. I had to move the pictures to my computer from my camera, then I had to move them with a USB stick to this computer and then cut them apart.

These two looks were what I had one yesterday and the day before. They're quite neutral looks, one a brown shade and the other a more purple one.

I just used a medium brown with a dark brown in the crease and lower lash line. Basic black eye liner and black mascara.

Quick tip! Using an eye shadow base is a very good idea! However, using too much of the eye shadow base is like not using any. It creases if there is too much of it! As you can see in the picture above, I used too much. I bought this eye shadow base a few days ago and I was probably using it for the second or third time.. I now know to use less... :D

In this look I had a gray-brown eye shadow on the lid. Purple and pink in the crease. Again, black eye liner and black mascara.

Stay tuned for Something blue... and a little smoky. :D

Rather to Torture Myself

I am really dead beat these two days.
