Something blue, something new

And that something would be press-on nails.

Err... yeah my cuticles aren't pretty, but they couldn't really be pretty cause I've never taken care of them really. I don't like my fingers and hands getting greasy so I don't put anything on my hands.

Typing is extremely difficult with these cause these are so, so long, yet these are medium length. I just put them on an hour ago. I've used fake nails by this brand before and they stayed for about 2 days eventhough the package says 7 days. I am not that good apparently with the nail glue cause if you look close the glue does not seem to be evenly coating my nail. Gotta learn that still. Maybe then they'll stay better.

These are so pretty!

And this is the brand. Medium length nails. Ha! These are too long for me. Difficult to type, contacts would be impossible I'm guessing. Even my own nails seem to get stuck to jacket pockets and stuff so these will too, unless I'm too careful with these then...

Do you use fake nails? Acrylics, gel, press-on? What's your favorite?

Tutorial - For May Day party? A look by Glamour Doll

I remember always using the same two color pencils at my grandma's house when I was little. They were a purple and a turquoise-greenish that I thought went so well together. That is what this look reminds me of. Maybe the combination of those two colors is still in the back of my head as the best combination ever.

On Friday all the students in this country put on their overalls (yes, student overalls that are different for each major and different for each university) and party all night long. And on May 1st as well. I need a special look for that, and this is one of my options. I twitpicced about this last night and Lovely Violet asked me to turn it into a tutorial, which I then did. :)

Ta dah!

I only used Glamour Doll eyeshadows. Which reminds me I still haven't received my GDE order, eventhough it was sent before the Coastal Scents order that I got on Tuesday. They were sent a day before the CS stuff, with the same shipping system thing whatever it is. Stupid volcano in Iceland. :/ I really hope my order hasn't gotten lost...

I used Disco White, Island Chic, Glam Girl and Urban Trash.

I applied a primer and then NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil Milk.

Then some Disco White to the inner corner and tearduct.

With a fluffy (blending) brush I applied Glam Girl to the outer 2/3 of the lid.

Island Chic is an eyeshadow that I have not found a great way to use yet. I guess the shade is a little difficult with my skintone, so I'm still testing, but I think this is alright.

Applied Island Chic to the lower lash line with a pencil brush. That actually was a little too big for this use, but it's better for the crease.

Urban Trash, which is a matte black, to the crease only, not much to the outer corner, even though it kind of does go there a little bit, but that can be seen better from the picture below.

I used Ben Nye's black cake eyeliner.

Max Factor's False Lash Effect as mascara.

Then I put some black liner on my lower water line.

Concert night

Hey everyone!

I'm so happy none of my followers have disappeared during my little break and I've gotten a few more. Thank you for staying with me! I honestly don't know what happened. I didn't wear much makeup to begin with during this time and when I did it wasn't anything special, just a plain quick look, so I didn't feel like posting it to this blog. Though now looking at the poll I guess that is something you would like to see since 'eye of the day' option was the most popular one. Tutorials coming second. So that is what you will get.

I am sure most of use have had those days when you just don't want to do your makeup or just felt like staying in bed the whole day. Unfortunately I have classes to attend so I couldn't do that during the week, so I stayed in bed for most of the weekend. I guess this is the spring depression that's getting to me. I know that during the fall there is a lot of talk of fall depression, or winter depression, but I just don't like hot weather that much and for the summer I should have found a job, which causes more stress cause I haven't found a job yet so... Yeah.

But now back to the look I did yesterday when my friend and I went to a concert. I can't remember when we saw that band last time. But it was great. And I want to see them again in the summer when they're playing in this city again. A lot has happened in 6 years when they became famous. The crowd is not just 15-year old emo girls anymore, there are actually grown ups and men too! The lead singer doesn't look as much of a girl anymore, he's gotten manlier. Last night was great too because 5-6 years ago I didn't wear contacts and I didn't wear glasses at the gigs cause I felt I looked stupid, so I didn't really see much, but yesterday I did wear contacts and I saw so much!!! Even from the drinking area I saw facial expressions and guitar strings!!! I'm so happy about that.

I realize that might sound weird.

Oh well, we managed to get 2 roses each because the band threw buckets full of roses to the crowd.

But now to the look.

Created by these new shadows the I recently bought.

And here are the swatches

On the Lumene eyeshadow primer.

I applied NYX Jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Milk after the eyeshadow primer on my lids. Then some shimmery golden beige to the inner third. Perfect Lagoon on the rest lid and crease. Then Perfect Iris to the crease and outer corner.

I don't think these shadows work very well without a primer. They work best with a primer + something like NYX's Milk.

And some more pictures!

No creasing. Eyeliner is by Ben Nye. Stayed put the whole night. Though I felt like I should've put some black. This isn't necessarily an evening look, for me.

What do you think? Does it look very much like a rock concert-look? Maybe not so much... Or?

Oh No !

I lost my laptop & I felt like I lost my life without it. Okay I know it's quite exaggerating, but you will understand the agony and the pain that I will be going through for a lost laptop if you are also one of the victims of my house.

Two Toshiba laptops owned by my housemates Vikiy & EnMing, one Dell laptop owned by me, total up of three laptops were stolen from my apartment at Malacca last Tuesday :( The thief prised the door open and obviously the thief had simply entered and walked out from our apartment as bold as brass because nobody was at home during the time range when all of us went to class in the morning until 5pm I found that our laptops were missing. We speculate that it had been done by someone who is pretty familiar with our apartment, maybe the resident in our apartment area, yet it's merely our guesswork =/

Verge on collapse ='(

Needless to say, I’m a little upset. The thing that is so frustrating about it is I lost all my precious data inside my lappie! All my music, important documents, and also tonnes of photos with great meaning to me are LOST!

Well, we reported this to the police although it seems to have no help at all. The police did come as a matter of form.

My housemate, EnMing with the investigators.

He was being asked some random questions by the inspector, yet I think that they were more like having a chatting session.

Now the safety of our apartment will be the only matter that makes me feel so worried and troubled. I just can't shake the feeling that someone is watching over me whenever I am in the house alone. Why? My housemates told me that something like this happened weeks ago before this incident. Someone pressed the doorbell of our apartment around 2am in the midnight, but my housemates couldn't find anyone at the door when they opened it. I told my mum about this, she said it was most probably done by the thief who was trying to check whether there was anyone around in our house. It sounds creepy right? During this moment even my hair also erect when I write about this, luckily now I can escape myself from there temporarily since I'm now at my hometown =X

I want to move out as soon as the end of May reaches! ARRRRGGGHHH

Update

So something happened today which made me change the address of my blog and the title. Stupid me. Basically I wrote the address somewhere where I really should not have written it and well, I changed the url.

I also went and edited all the places where I had this blog address posted and that resulted in me losing all of the comments made after I changed to IntenseDebate. I can still see them when I'm logged in there, but they cannot be seen in my blog. :( I had sooo many nice comments there and I feel incredibly stupid right now. :( I'm angry at myself for being stupid.

If you've been following this blog through blogger and through this other place that there is then you do not need to do anything, cause the urls have been changed through here.

Sorry about all of this!

edit.!!! I'm sooo pissed off right now! I lost _all_ of the comments. not just the ones written while I was using intense debate. I want to cry.

Green & Black

I did this look by using my 88 palette, which is not like the Coastal Scents one. I bought mine from Ebay, and stupid me thought it would be exactly like the coastal scents warm palette, but no it is not, and only a few of the 88 are pigmented which is a shame. There are a couple good colors though. The rest is just blah. Well, it's not like it was that expensive anyway.

There's the overall look. I used NYX's jumbo pencil in Milk, again, as a base. Why do I feel like all the posts in my blog have become really repetitive? All I use nowadays are Glamour Doll eyeshadows and the Milk jumbo pencil... I am getting annoyed. Well it's because I had a no-cosmetics buying month which I'm still sort of continuing, yet I ordered stuff from Glamour Doll last week... Oopsie... Well, I gotta save money for the summer and the possible European tour.

I just packed the green (marked with #1 on the palette) on the lid. I know it looks kind of blue now, but the real color can be seen from the palette. There's a picture of it in the end of this post, where I circled the shadows I used.

I took a sharp small brush and took Grimas matte black and created the sharp line to the crease. I used the black with golden glitter (#2) and blended the matte black upwards to the brows...

I lined my eyes just and just on the upper and lower lashline and the lower waterline.

I circled the shadows I used from the picture below.

Have you bought makeup from Ebay? How did it turn out?

Ps. The poll is still open for quite a few days so please go answer it if you haven't already! Thanks! :)

[ Oh You Make Me Smile ♥ ]

♥ ♥ ♥ I'm currently in a super hyper happy goody mood.

Can you see the corner of my smiling mouth? I just couldn't stop smiling.

Of course, there is a reason, and that's it ♥ ♥ ♥

Finally I got my baby baby S !!!

I am so proud of myself. You know why, I have never taken a single cent from my parents to possess my ST500. That's why, I really do feel so contented when I finally got it with me.

P/S :: You know what, you are amazing. You never fail to make me at least crack a smile. I forget about the world when I am with you. From this day forth, it's all about you and me

Modern day Cleopatra

Edit. 24.4.2010 Unfortunately all the comments on this post and a couple others have disappeared due to my mistake at IntenseDebate, the comment system I use. I had gotten so many lovely comments recently and then I had to mess up. I'm still a little upset about this.

I think I need to buy some more eyeshadows, because the only ones I use now are Glamour Doll Eyeshadows and my infatuation with them isn't going down because I ordered some more on Tuesday... Ooops. :D

As I wrote yesterday today's look is a little Cleopatra-inspired. Or not. :D

First I put Secretive in the inner corner, Summer skies to the middle of the lid. Then I took a business card and placed on edge in my outer corner and then added some Dusk so that I'd get an extremely sharp edge aligned with my lower lashline. Took Dusk up to the crease and blended it in with Summer Skies and Secretive.

Then I took Graffiti and lined my lower lash line with it, and with a sharp small brush I brought Graffiti up the sharp edge previously created by the business card + Dusk.

Such a shame that Secretive does not photograph properly!!! It is soo nice when applied but totally washed out in a photo. :(

After creating the wing with Graffiti I took a gel eyeliner and lined my top lash line and sort of connected that to the wing. Then I added some mascara to the top and bottom lashes.

If you want to do a look along the lines of this, I highly suggest that you have clean and strong eyebrows. If you normally don't fill your eyebrows in with eyeshadow or a brow pencil, with this look you kinda have to or else (in my opinion) you wont look as good as you would if you would have strong eyebrows. Then go with a rather nude lip and the entire blush palette does not have to be on your face. ;)

I have a rather square face so I like to bring the focus up to my eyes. I'm not a big fan of my jaw. I feel like I look a little bit silly if I have like a very simple eye with red lips because it doesn't really fade out my jaw, and I have gotten a lot of compliments about my eyes so I want the focus there instead of other places.

In natural lighting...

I added some Graffiti to the very outside part of the crease to add depth.

With a flash...

For some reason in some of the pictures the wing does not look straight, but it pretty much was almost in a 45 degree angle... Now it just looks curved and like it would be 'pulling' my eye down from the outside corner... :(

Are you feeling the power of Cleopatra? What do you think of the look?

PS. There is a poll for you all to answer, so please answer it if you haven't already. Thank you!

Also I got a formspring. Link to it can be found from the top of the blog page. Next to my Twitter link.

Have a great day!

Recreation - oranges and pinks/reds

I saw this post by Phyrra and I told her I'd do something like that on Tuesday, as in today.

I used Jailhouse Jumpsuit by GDE and a matte pinkish red eyeshadow (nr. 545) by Grimas.

To the lower lash line I used GDE Dusk mixed with NYX trio eyeshadow Rock&Roll palettes gray eyeshadow. I guess I could've used a purple like Phyrra or just simply a black, but I wanted to use something else this time.

I lined my eyes with MUS black gel eyeliner.

Also the lower and upper waterlines (or tightline), whatever it is. What is it by the way?

I will fix the lower waterline before I leave... with a pencil eyeliner. So much better for that.

The lowest picture I took in natural light. The rest I took when I was standing by the window, but with a flash and the cuisine-program. The more closer it gets to summer the better the pictures turn out... :D Otherwise I'd with it would be a snowy winter for the whole year!

What do you think?
