Christmas Look

It is time for a Christmas look! A dramatic one at that.

I used Glamour Doll Eyes shadows.

I put NYX jumbo pencil in Cherry on the lid. I blended it out with my finger. I applied FrankenGlamour by Glamour Doll Eyes, GDE, to the top of the crease and a little on the browbone to help blending later.

I took Mutant (GDE) and applied that in the crease with a tapered blending brush. I also added Brewster (GDE) to the whole red part of the lid. Then I added Philadelphia (GDE) to the outer half of the red part of the lid. This part is not shown in the pictures because I forgot to take pics of it.

I took Backstabber (GDE) and applied that to the crease so that it did not cover all of FrankenGlamour and Mutant, but there was like a thin line in the crease. I used an angled eyeliner brush in Foil Me, a mixing medium by GDE, and got some Backstabber on it and lined my top and lower lash lines.

Here you can see a drawing of some sort where to apply the shadows.

I used a clean blending brush to blend in the crease color, Backstabber, and the red shadows.

I used Sensai's black liquid eyeliner and Estee Lauder's lengthening mascara.

I used Blacktrack fluidline on the lower waterline.

And the full look !

Hope you enjoyed this look!!!

From day makeup to night makeup

I wanted to do a tutorial on how to change a day makeup look into a night time look.

From this... (yes with the mascara messes on the lid...)

... to this.

I had on MAC Bare Study paint pot, IsaDora's eyebrow pencil and mascara to start with.

Start with a skin colored shadow and apply that with a shader brush to the browbone and down to the crease. This is done because a color like matte black is difficult to blend otherwise if it's directly on skin. I used the lightest matte shade from Wet n Wild's Vanity palette. I used Sigma's E60 large shader. You can add the shadow all the way under the brow to the inner corner.

Like so. The red brush is from The Cities collection from the Paris kit.

Flip the E60 over if you want, and apply a matte white shadow to the moving lid. I used Grimas shadows in the rest of the tutorial.

With a E45 small tapered blending brush take the tiniest amount of matte black shadow and start applying that with a very light hand to your crease and outer V area. It is best to start with minute amounts of dark, and especially matte shadows as it is easier to apply more than to take off.

With windshield wiper motion make the brush follow your crease. It should apply the matte black and blend at the same time.

Now take an E25 blending brush and the skin colored shadow again and start blending the outside area of the black. We don't want any sharp edges. If you want you can add more matte white on the lid. My E25 is travel-sized and it is a gift that comes with your purchase when your purchase is over $30.

Add eyeliner to the top lash line and some kajal liner to the waterline. You could tightline as well. Add more mascara and fake eyelashes if you want.

If you want more black, you can add more like I did.

You can bring the black on the outer lid part as well with the tapered blending brush.

The red brushes are by Sigma Beauty. They are from the Cities Paris kit they were selling a while back. I bought mine during the Black Friday sale. The travel-sized E25 you get when your order is over $30. I am a Sigma Affiliate and the links to the brushes are affiliate links. If you visit their website, decide to purchase something, and appreciate my honesty, please use my affiliate links. I earn a small commision from every sale, and affiliate that I bring and I would really appreciate it if you would use my affiliate links. Thank you.

Lemon-Lime tutorial with GDE

This is a tutorial and I used Glamour Doll eyeshadows New York, Miami, Las Vegas and Schizophrenic. The first three are from the Cities Collection and the last one from the Super Heroes Collection.

I used Urban Decay's Primer Potion first and then NYX's eyeshadow pencil in Cottage Cheese.

I took GDE's Miami and placed that on the inner 1/3 or so of the eyelid.

After that I put Schizophrenic about on the outer half of the lid. You can click on all the pictures in this post and see them in a larger size.

I took some New York on a pencil brush and placed that in the tear duct area.

After this I took a little bit of Las Vegas on a tapered blending brush and placed that on my outer corner and crease. Also I added Las Vegas on my lower lash line with a pencil brush.

Then I'll show you the finished look!

I filled in my eyebrows with a light brown (forgot the name) pencil by IsaDora. I used MAC's Blacktrack fluidline as a liner. I also placed that on my waterline and closed the inner corner.

This isn't necessarily the most flattering way of using eyeliner for me, but I felt it works with the look.

I used Maybelline's One by One in black as mascara.

I quite like this. :D

How about you?

Not for daily use.

I posted a preview of this a couple weeks ago, saying I'd post the whole tutorial the following weekend. Yeah, I didn't. Sorry about that! I used the Manly 120 palette in this, and NYX's jumbo eyeshadow pencils.

Tutorial

First I applied a primer and then as a base I used NYX's jumbo eyeshadow pencils in Lemon and Purple.

I took a picture of my Manly and numbered them for personal use. Now I will use the same numbers here, I'll post a picture of the whole Manly so that you can see what colors I used. The numbers are explained with each picture.

I put 112 and 114 like this:

Then I added a highlight. You can use whatever you like for this. Then I applied a lighter purple, 88, a little over the purple 112, and on the Lemon jumbo pencil.

I took greenish shadows 4 and 10. 4 I placed in the innermost corner, 10 next to it, more on the lid.
I took a blueish purple, 35, and placed that on the line of the purple 88 and green 10.

I decided to add alittle more green to the border of green and purple. This time it was green 39.

I used a kajal liner in black on the top and bottom waterlines, and added mascara.

I took some black 114 and green 39 on a pencil brush and placed that on the lower lash line. Then I also blended the purple some more...

I added crazy lashes...

... that I wore for Halloween (I was Morticia Addams), but this time they had gone bad, and refused to function properly, so I threw them out after I took the pictures... Also the glue wasn't good anymore. Those two reasons are why the lashes look all weird, cause I didn't manage to place them properly.
Definitely not using that glue anymore... or this brand lashes... I want more than 1.5 uses out of them.

Finished look!

Thoughts?

Guess what my boyfriend said about this? He came home and said that "I'm going to say this now so that you believe me later, you've looked prettier." I didn't expect him to ask me to do my makeup like this every day, but I didn't expect what he said. Then  a while later before going to sleep he asked me if I got insulted by his words. I did and I didn't. You know? I don't expect him to say something about blending or something, but I expected something like "I like the colors" or something. He knows and I know I wont use makeup like this on a daily basis. This was for this blog for new years. I don't know. I can't remember what I felt that day, cause it was a while ago. I did this on like the last or the second last day of 2010...

A little preview...

Just a little preview of what's coming this weekend!

Tutorial - Favorite team's colors.

Time for a little tutorial... Inspired by my favorite hockey team; team colors are blue, orange and white. The season begins in 10 days... :D Cannot wait!!!

In the finished looked the orange isn't as in your face-type as it is on my teams hockey pants...

I didn't have enough individual lashes left, so the lashes look like they end too far away from the inner corner, and they do, but I just had the lashes for this tutorial. I need to go buy new ones...

First I put some eyeshadow primer on and a light layer of NYX jumbo eyeshadow pencil in Milk on the eyelid.

The I put Glamour Doll Eyes Disco White to the inner corner and tear duct area. GDE orange Jailhouse Jumpsuit to the rest of the lid. I now realized I should have only put Jailhouse Jumpsuit to the middle of the lid, you'll see why soon...

This is why. The GDE MIngles began turning a little greenish because, if you know your color theory, yellow and blue make green, and orange is a little yellow...

I intensified the blue quite a lot by just packing on the color. I also put some of the blue MIngles to the lower lash line area.

I tried to create kind of a triangle area to the outer corner with the blue. I like that look.

I used Makeup Store's black gel liner and matte black eyeshadow as a liner. I put gel eyeliner and the black eyeshadow on the lower water line as well. I added several coats of black eyeshadow and added individual lashes. I only had 1 short one left, so majority of these are the long ones, and then there's a few medium length ones. Should've put a couple long ones more so then I would have had some fake lashes near the inner corner as well, now they kind of end abruptly. :/

End result.

What are your thoughts? :D What are you favorite fake lashes? Do you use them often?
