I was watching TV today and there was a commercial for the Activia yogurt. Have you heard about it?
Basically if you have indigestion, or you feel bloated, or feel like you have a balloon in your stomach, you should eat this yogurt.
Are you freaking kidding me?!
Even if it works temporarily, it will not stop the problem. You would still suffer from the same symptoms, it would cure it momentarily, but not for good.
People buy this stuff, because they are lazy and won't change their eating habits. Changing eating habits would cure the problem, you wouldn't suffer from indigestion, and wouldn't need to buy yogurt, that costs twice or three times that what normal yogurt costs.
Stop eating crap food. It really is that simple.
Instead, eat full grain products, get rid of plain white bread made of processed wheat flour. That is your problem. Eat foods with lots of fiber in them, they are good for your intestines, you know, the part where food is really broken into little pieces and molecules that you absorb. Eat fruits, vegetables, fiber rich products, dairy, protein.
If you have celiac disease, then I don't know what you can eat and what you can't... Sorry.
If you have celiac disease, then I don't know what you can eat and what you can't... Sorry.
Now, are you trying to lose weight?
Stop going to McDonald's. Ordering a large Big Mac meal - with diet coke. Like that diet coke would make it any better. The burger and fries still have a bunch of unnecessary calories, just because you take diet coke instead of normal coke, you are not going to lose weight. Stop going to McDonald's. Eat healthy foods, and exercise. It is that simple!
You don't need to starve yourself. In fact, starving yourself probably wouldn't even work. Say, you are starving yourself of good nutrients, you get hungry, you need something to eat quick, you get a chocolate bar, and starve yourself more. First, you starve yourself. Second, even if you are trying to lose weight, you still need a certain amount of calories, carbohydrates, fats. Yes, fats. You need fats to create new cells. Good fats, stay away from bad fats. Use oils, eat nuts (they contain a bunch of calories, so eat in moderation). High cholesterol levels aren't good either.
Eat in moderation, but enough of everything. Exercise. You won't starve yourself and become sick. You eat enough of these vital ingredients, your cells wont die off, and you exercise. Your physical stamina gets better, if you exercise outside, you get fresh air at the same time. Don't drive a block to lunch, you should walk instead. Don't use an elevator. Take the stairs. But be reasonable here too, I don't expect you to climb up 60 floors. Go with the elevator to the 55ft floor, and climb up the rest 5. Climbing up the stairs is better for your knees than climbing down the stairs. If you already have knee issues, maybe climbing up stairs isn't going to fix them, so figure out something else you can do.
Fixing indigestion, or popping the balloon in your stomach, it is not going to get fixed with "special yogurt", fix your diet first, and you fix the problem.
To lose weight eat in moderation and exercise enough. Get all the important nutrients by eating lots of vegetables, use whole grain products instead of white processed wheat flour products, eat fruits, nuts, dairy. Walk instead of driving short-medium distances. Try biking medium distances to work. Driving one block to have lunch somewhere is just silly.
I'm not a nutritionist, but bread baked from plain, white flour doesn't do anyone any good. Make sure you get your vitamins preferably from your balanced diet. Not from supplements. They are what they are - supplements - not to be used instead of a healthy, balanced diet.
Come on people! This all is common sense!
Now, I am done with my rant. I give the stage for you, my lovely readers. Do you have thoughts on nutrition, losing weight and such?
Keep in mind, I am not a nutritionist, but really, all the things I have said here are common sense, are they not?
