Belly Good Trip: Penang ♥ Day 3

Arghhh, I'm so lazy to update my blog! And I'm getting to be really laid back these days...
It's such a long semester break for me, it is a freaking one month!
The lyrics that describes my current life the best:

"Today I don't feel like doing anything

I just wanna lay in my bed

Don't feel like picking up my phone, so leave a message at the tone

'Cause today I swear I'm not doing anything"

Being a couch potato at home everyday is just OH-SO-NOT-ME!
Definitely gotta do something to make my life more efficient and packed from now!
Now, imma update you guys on my last post of Penang trip
And yes, this is the final post! I'm getting sick of updating such belated post already :(

After visited to the Toy Museum on the second day of the trip, our next destination was Penang War Museum which located @Batu Maung. History of Penang War Museum:

"Penang War Museum was erected on the original defence complex built by British early dated before World War II due to importance to protect Penang Harbour from sea attack."

"Manned by not only British soldiers, but also Malay and Sikh soldiers, Bukit Maung fell during an attack in which the Japanese army approached from inland, rather than from sea, as was expected by the British army. From that day onwards, the fortress at Bukit Maung transformed into a Japanese army base with a dark history, filled with narrations of how prisoners were tortured for information to help forward the advancement of the Japanese army into Malaya. "

"As a result, Bukit Maung, in the years following the fall of the Japanese army in 1945, the locals in the area kept well away of Bukit Maung for fear of its reputation as a place of hauntings by ghosts of dead soldiers."

There were many stations in the War Museum. We had to overcome the 'challenges' in order to reach the next station.

Trespassing this underground tunnel was the most horrible moment for us. This tunnel used to be the storage for highly explosive ammunitions. It was pitch-dark in the tunnel which made us even feared. Eventually we relied on the dim light of our cell phones to find the way out of the tunnel.

This was the another tunnel that we had to crawl through to reach the next station.

Another challenge of the trip! This ladder seems bottomless huh?

We climbed up the ladder one after another and finally reached the top. Victory!

"Imma kick you down and let's do it again!" XD

If you are an adventurous type person, you are encouraged to participate in the night tour activities provided at War Museum.

One of the methods of execution for the prisoners.

The cooking house

The atmosphere would be more mysterious as the night falls...

Don't be freaked out by the sex slave! 0_0

The crew at the War Museum sprayed lemongrass oil on our body as mosquito repellent because the environment was humid after the rain. Beware of the insects too! This tiny snake almost dropped on Elaine's head X_X

Goodbye War Museum. Let's pray for the world peace *fingercrossed*

Next destination, dinner @ Thai Food, Bukit Genting Hill.

Just look at the breathtaking scenery from the hill, nothing could be more charming than this occasion.

Three idiots? 0_o

We had a lot of fun before the dinner at Bukit Genting Hill. Tonnes of photos were taken! :D

I start missing those fond memories at Penang. That was a really joyful and interesting trip!

Photobucket

Apple: "He got gun meh?!" LOL *inside joke*

And of course, my all time favorite Thai dish!!!

Must try! I ♥ tom yam kung *slurrrp*

*Droooooling* Thai style steamed fish

Green curry chicken and fried mixed vegetables.
For those who couldn't get used to the taste of basil, the green curry chicken wouldn't be recommended.

Thai style salad and prawn! Love both of 'em!

Let's tuck in!!!

Took another group photo with the sunset. Hope to visit Bukit Genting Hill next time!

Talking about the nightlife in Georgetown...

Attend the happening party at MOIS?

For non-clubbers like us, FOOD is always the best choice!

Chatime @First Avenue Mall

The rare shell seafood (刺螺). Taste it for the first time... not bad tho :)
Bak kut teh!!! Another must try @Old Green House, Burmah Road (老青屋餐室)

Curry noodles and Hokkien mee @Old Green House, Burmah Road
Before travelling, I never know this was how Hokkien mee looked like at Penang!

Took a little stroll after the supper @Gurney Drive and Straits Quay :)

The next morning, we had our breakfast at...

Curry noodles @Jalan Seratus Tahun
It would taste better with the sambal sauce.

After breakfast, we visited the last destination of the trip - Kek Lok Si @Air Itam.
Kek Lok Si is the largest Buddhist temple in Southeast Asia. (source from wikipedia)

The wishing ribbon

We wrote our name on the wishing ribbon and hanged it on the ‘wishes collector'.
The higher the better! ;)

We took the cable car to the Guan Yin statue on the hill.

The white Guan Yin statue behind them was damaged due to the fire few years ago.

And this is the new bronze statue.

Had our last meal at Penang, Asam Laksa @Air Itam

We departed from Penang Airport to LCCT at 1530.

Goodbye Henry.
Hope to see you again someday in the future! :D

Goodbye Penang. Hello Langkawi? ;P
