Quick (first impressions) review - Garnier BB Cream

I applied Garnier's BB Cream (Miracle Skin Perfector) today for the first time instead of foundation. It is not sold here in Finland yet, it will be in stores in the beginning of the year,if I remember correctly. I did not make notes so I might be mistaken. I do not know if it is sold in the USA or Canada. Garnier is owned by L'Oreal.

It applied really well. It evens out my skin tone, but I can still see my skin underneath, which I consider a plus.  I have the Light-color, which might be too dark still for me.

I am typing this right now because my boyfried just said my face looks better than before. Normally I would've waited until I had tried it at least a handful of times to write an in depth review.

The freckles on the top of my cheeks are more visible than with normal foundation, my forehead and cheeks look darker than before, these are the words my boyfriend used. That is why I think this BB cream is still too dark even though it is the lightest shade available. However, my skin still appears better-looking than before. It looks natural. (Again, those are my  boyfriends words.)

So after one use this Miracle Skin Perfector looks like my skin but better. I could use an extra-light shade though. ;)

PS. I have Samsung Galaxy S II. Sometimes I take photos with it and post them on my blog under the label "mobile updates". When I post them, the photo is tilted 90 degrees to the left. They are not straight. I go to the photo editor in my phone to turn them. I turn them 90 degrees to the right. I upload them again on the blogger app. They are now 180 degrees turned from how I turned them while editing, not 90. Is there any way for me to take pictures with my phone and upload them so that they are straight?!

I just published this post, downloaded the pics, edited them, and uploaded them again. I don't want to do that that much! My phone saves them in .png, but I always upload my pics in .jpg. I forgot to change them to .jpg now. Sorry.

Garnier's BB Cream was given to me in a goodie bag at the blog meet this past weekend.

Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Intensive Daily Moisturiser for Face SPF 15

I got a sample of this when I bought an Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Cream Starter Kit. There was the Eight hour cream (15 ml), Hand Treatment (30 ml) and this daily moisturiser (15 ml).

I have normal-dry mixed skin (until recently, I was under the assumption that I have dry skin). It is normal on my cheeks, my forehead is dry, my nose has some blackheads, and my chin has pimples occasionally. Lately more than before, I keep thinking it's because of hormonal reasons, rather than wrong producs. I haven't figured it out yet.

I really started using this last week. My forehead was really dry, there was skin flaking off. Applying any foundation made it look worse. Mineral Powder foundation looked awful, and liquid foundation looked better, but still not very nice. I had tried to fix my forehead by using the basic Eight Hour Cream at night on my forehead, but that didn't do anything for the flakes.

Then on one morning, I applied this face moisturizer all over my face, concentrating on my forehead. Liquid foundation looked better than ever. It was such a smooth finish. I did use a Lumene  face primer, but I always use that. I had just changed the moisturizer. I use this moisturizer daily now, and I have no dryness on my forehead (and the pimples are disappearing from my chin).

The moisturizer is very thick, and it takes a while to sink in, but once it's sunk in, my skin feels moisturized and smooth.

I don't mind the smell. It goes away once there's other makeup on my face.

I think I am going to buy a full size version of this moisturizer. It is wonderful for me, especially during the winter.

My second favorite cream from this set is the hand lotion. I'm one to never use hand cream. When I use hand cream, I feel I need to wash my hands immediately, because if I don't I cant touch anything. Only after  chemistry lab work in school my hands are really dry because I am constantly washing my hands in addition to the normal daily hand washes. I don't really see the point of using hand lotion daily. But I like it. I still avoid rubbing hand lotion all over my hands, now I only put it on the top side of the hand.. what is that called? Not the palm side, but that other side? :D Anyways, the hand lotion isn't too creamy, it doesn't make me feel like I need to wash my hands right after.

• Triangle Shaped Face: If you have a narrow forehead but a broad cheekbone, then you have a Triangle Shaped Face! No worries! Your only goal is to narrow down your chin and widen your forehead through hairstyling tips!
Best hairstyles for this type: Triangle Shape face individuals should avoid wearing long haircuts because they will only emphasize more on the broad chin. Try wearing short to medium hairstyles that have heavy layers and bangs to accentuate the forehead. Also, you may also use hair wax to create spiky hair to add volume to your forehead, so that it will balance out with the broad cheekbone.

Hairstyles to avoid: Try to avoid long haircuts that are below the shoulder level, and thin layered haircuts which would not help balance out the face traits.

Best hairstyles for this type: A person with a heart shape face should be concerned with their particular narrow chin. They should attempt to make their chin look enlarged. A Heart shape face should wear a multi-layered haircut, to emphasize the hair volume, and would soften the narrow chin. Also, hairstyles with some bangs is encouraged, to take out the image of a constricted chin. Try not to completely ignore bangs, because without them, the difference of the forehead and chin would be displayed.

Hairstyles to avoid: Try to avoid haircuts with completely no fringes, at least leave some bangs on to flatten out the narrow chin. Any hairstyle would work, except for thin-layered haircuts without bangs.

Best hairstyles for this type: Diamond Shaped face individuals should wear a haircut that can minimize the narrowness of the face, and soften up the wide cheekbone look. One can achieve this by wearing medium to long haircuts that have a strong layer, which can diminish the broad cheekbone look. Also, wear lots of fringes to make your forehead wider.

Hairstyles to avoid: Try to avoid haircuts that do not have any bangs at all, which can totally show your tall and narrow forehead. Also keep away from hairstyles that do not have hair near the neck and chin area, because they do the trick to broaden up your chin. Wear medium to thick layers of hair which will thicken up the forehead.
