3rd Holiday look

Happy Tuesday everyone!

I never really plan how I will do my makeup for the day, neither do I plan what "extreme" looks I will do and post on here. Today's Holiday look is the result of me just opening my makeup drawers and picking up some random items and just starting to paint on my face. Granted this is quite an extreme looks so no, I will not be leaving my house, not today at least, looking like this because I need to look more subtle, today especially of all days. So now after writing this blog post I'll take a shower, remove this makeup and then do a very, very neutral makeup, one that I probably have already posted on here.

I guess the focus on this look lands on the eyeliner (and lashes), not so much on the eyeshadows. On the inner half of my eye lid I used a shimmery off-white. Outer half got some hot pink eye shadow that I lifted slightly above my crease. I saw a fellow blogger write three great posts about lining your eyes, this is Karkkipäivä, her blog is not in English though. If I'm bored or out of ideas I always go to her blog for new inspiration. Thanks for a great blog, Inkivääri!

I used a deeper hot pink in my crease, and a matteish vanilla eye shadow as a highlight.

Thick and winged dark gray liquid eye liner on the top lid. I don't exactly know how to describe the eye liner in the inner corner, but I believe that you can get a good idea by looking at the pictures. Also you might want to line your upper waterline with some black/dark gray eye liner, which I didn't do as you can see.

Same thing with the lower eye liner, I don't really know how to describe it. It is a little difficult at first to use a liquid eye liner on the lower lid because it can easily look a little funny. There are ways around that, so let me explain what I did. I took a black pencil eye liner, one that you have found to be the best on your waterline, so apply it to the middle third or so on your waterline. Or like on the middle half of your waterline if you decide to divide your waterline into 4 parts.

Then to the inner and outer thirds/quarters you put a white eye liner and take that eyeliner out as well. For example, in the inner corner, you paint the area between the top and bottom lines white and that continues to your waterline. And then do the same thing to your outer corner.

Also, you can put some white eye shadow, or an eyeshadow that is a tad lighter than your skin tone and soften then middle part of the eyeliner on your lower lid, like in the picture.

Here is a perfect example of a bad mascara, or not really a bad mascara, just one that "promises" the wrong things. I bought this one a while ago, and I am happy with how it stays on, how it separates my lashes and it doesn't dry out that fast. What I don't like is that this mascara is supposed to be a volumizing mascara. Do you see any volume? I sure don't. I've tried applying it a few different ways but I just don't get a better result concerning volume. It does however, lengthen my lashes. So I guess that's good then. It did not promise any lengthening action though. This mascara is a good everyday mascara, but not one for parties or looks where you need ridiculous lashes. If I'd put some fake lashes on then this would be good though. Especially in this look cause the eyeliner is so strong and eye catching, it just looks like I'd have no mascara on whatsoever.

Also in these pictures you might be able to see that I filled in my eyebrows with eyeshadow, I have used an eye brow pencil always before. Either I don't know how to use eyeshadow on my eyebrows, or I have the wrong eye shadow color. I just don't like the way it looks. I'm returning to my eye brow pencil ASAP.


edit. I added some mascara and intensified the eyeliners a little. So two new pictures. Enjoy.

And I added a little white eye liner to the inner and outer corners between the grey/black eye liners..

2nd holiday look: New Year's Eve

Hey Happy Holidays!

New Year's Eve is getting closer and I'm sure people are busy shopping and planning their New Year's celebrations. I don't know what I'm doing on New Years yet, but hopefully I'll do something. Last time I was quite sick so I stayed at home alone and just watched the fireworks from my window.

Here is one look for New Years.

I used medium brown eye shadow on my whole lid. Then 1/2 of the outer lid I put some electric blue. Outer V and the crease as well with that same eye shadow.

Midnight blue with golden sparkles to the outer V and crease. Some shimmery white to the tear duct area.

I lined my top lid with GOSH's Pretty Petrol eye liner that I bought a couple weeks ago.

I lined my upper and lower waterlines with the same GOSH eye liner. I put some midnight blue eye shadow with golden sparkles on my lower lash line.

I used two black mascaras, both should be volumizing, but really one of them actually lengthens more than volumizes, and the other really volumizes. So the combination should be longer and fuller lashes. :D

I used a matte light beige/offwhite eyeshadow as a highlight and to blend the crease colors a little.

Yup it's the time for 2009 to end =D

2009 is a year which is very meaningful to me.

The year which I do not have to grumble about the high school reopen-day.

The year which I finally received my dreadful SPM results. ="(

The year which I came to Malacca & started my whole new campus life, without all my familiar & beloved ones.

I am looking forward to the coming new year =)

But can't I just stop at 18-year-old? Somehow I wonder, why old age and death are inevitable for human?

Well, ignore me, it's just some kind of silly thought of mine.



I had a great time with the girls on my Christmas eve.

Again, Cammy fetched us to go the Portugese Village, where i had mentioned before in the earlier post. Before we departed to Portugese Village, we went to Newton Food Court for dinner. My gluttonous wish is finally granted! In fact I longed for the delicacy there since a super long time ago, haha. Okay, back to Portugese Village =P

All the houses there were decorated with dazzling beautiful settlements. You could really see the Snowman inside their house, and even Santa Claus was standing inside the chimney of their houses! I doubt how my house's courtyard will be if my parents also place a twinkling Fortune God there during the coming CNY? haha

Spent my christmas night with Mr. Shuai. No special celebrations, but I went to church with him, first time ever in my life! FYI, his family adopts Christian religion.

Holiday look

I didn't leave the house today but I still felt like doing some kind of a makeup look. Aaand I believe I will be wearing this for Christmas and also on New Years Eve. No fake lashes on Christmas though. ;) Here I have them on. I think this is the second time I'm wearing them. It really is difficult at first to get them right on your eyes, the inner corner is laughing a little.. I planned on starting to fix it, but then the whole makeup would've gotten messed up probably, so I just took the pictures... Maybe I'll practice a little before New Years Eve still.. ;)

Really this is a very basic look. I used a medium gray on the entire lid and a medium beige-brownish eye shadow in the crease. All eye shadows are matte, and before I do this look next time I will use a brush that I have just washed before or a brush that I have used for a matte color before.. I don't want any shimmer on this look, like there is now. As a highlight I had a plain light, matte cream color eye shadow.

I used a black liquid eye liner and it is a strong wing shape. I hate taking pictures of my left eye, because it is so much easier to take pictures of my right eye and I feel that the eye makeup always looks way better on my right eye... But I couldn't get a picture of the winged eye liner on my right eye to look as winged as they were.

I used a black eye shadow to set the eye liner and I lined the lower lash line with the same black eye shadow lightly. I put some black mascara on both upper and lower lashes before I put on the fake eye lashes.

Because I did not use strong colors on my eyes I made my lips very colorful. The perfect red lips. I think. You need to find the perfect color lip stick to make your teeth look whiter, I can't use anything orange, coral or baby pink. They don't work with my skintone and also make my teeth seem really yellow. Besides, thinking about using some coral/orange/baby pink lipstick I cringe.. I can't picture myself wearing those colors. Bluish neutrals and bluish pinks/reds are good.

I lined my lips with a red lip liner. If I use a lipstick that is more neutral, I don't always use lip liner and the times that I do use it, I don't fill in the lips with the lip liner, I just make the lines. But with darker lipsticks and lip liners I don't start by making the outlines, I put the lip liner pencil between my lips and start coloring them, and once I get closer to the end of the lips I'm more careful and watch closely where I draw lines..

With darker, reddish lip sticks I pretty much never apply lip stick straight from the lip stick. I use a lip stick brush. I can apply it better, it's more specific, and I don't get too much product on my lips. I find that lip stick stays better when I have used lip liner on my whole lip instead of just creating the outline, and because there isn't that much product, but enough to show the color, the lip stick actually stays better in place.

I also put some red lip gloss lightly on my lips. Wanted some shine, because the red lip stick I have is a very matte lip stick.

What do you think about this? Also, do you prefer the box-like pictures or the randomly cut pictures?

Late Post [Outing With The Girls]

Today is a tiring day!

I had another new part-time job experience 2day. Survey Distributor.Quite an easy job, but it become so hard when i was tortured from my monthly pain

Shit. Felt so weak & I couldn't even talk properly.

That's why I couldn't manage to complete many of the survey sheets.

But luckily it didn't come to attack me on tomorrow / Friday

as tmr I will have a whole day class & Friday I am going to KL ~!!!

Feel so high!

It had been a long time I never had a chance to shopping with my BFF & splurge all my cash out!

I am so looking forward to this friday! Gyvinne, wait for me =D

Wowwwww food~ Lol what kinda food is it?

If you're a malaccan u will definitely know this food well. The [Satay Celup].

Ate satay celup few times since i came to Malacca. An unique food indeed.

The only food which I exempt from my saliva-exchanging mysophobia.

Why? Come visit me at Malacca & figure it out by yourself la =P

After that we went to Portugese Village.

I thought this was a tourist spot & actually it was just a centralized residential area for Portugese in Malacca!

They hadn't really start to decorate their house for christmas. But Cammy told us that the place will be fascinating with all those decorations & it will be crowded with vast sea of people during the festival.

This Christmas, who will accompany with me by my side?

Fire and Stars

I'm not really sure, but for some reason I have wanted to use eye shadows that are not necessarily the colors you would first pair up together.

I got the idea yesterday when I did my makeup for our little Christmas Party when I used green and red eye shadows. I didn't really believe they would work together, but tried them anyways and really they did work together quite well. Clearly brown and black aren't the only colors to be used when intensifying the look. Unfortunately I did not take pictures of that look.

I used a hot pink eye shadow on the lid (made it a little less hot with some burgundy eye shadow) and a little of electric blue in the outer corner and crease. I darkened the electric blue with a midnight blue.

I used an offwhite highlight and a blue eye liner and some black mascara. More of like a lengthening mascara than a volumizing one.

Some midnight blue on the lower lash line and the lower water line is also lined with the blue eye liner pencil, although it cannot be seen on the water line anymore... this eye liner stays on for a long time, even on the water line, but not forever. Pictures were taken about 6 hours after applying..

These colors, pink&blue, are not the first combination I think of when deciding what eyeshadows I will use.

I heard that some comments haven't gone through. And I hear this has been happening in quite a few blogger.com blogs.
